How You Can Help

"The soul is healed by being with children."
-Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Children develop in an environment of relationships.

Volunteers are integral to our organization!

If any of these opportunities catch your eye, give us a call or complete the Volunteer Questionnaire!

Classroom Volunteers

Play and interact with children in our Therapeutic Classrooms. Being a Classroom Volunteer requires a positive attitude, sense of humor, and lots of patience. Volunteer opportunities are available in our Infant, Toddler and Preschool Classrooms, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Special Events and Community Outreach

Become an advocate for FDC! Represent us at community events. Requires a personable and approachable demeanor, the ability to lift/carry/ set up items. Shifts vary.

Join in our current fundraising efforts or help to create one of your own (with Board of Directors approval)! This opportunity requires interest and/or experience in fundraising and a plethora of imagination.

Board of Directors

Elected Board Members govern FDC and contribute to its leadership. Being part of our Board of Directors requires leadership skills and time. Meetings are once per month for two to three hours, not including separate committee meetings.

FDC offers some unpaid internships within our therapeutic classrooms. Internships require enrollment in a relevant field of study and dependability.

Clothing Closet

Sort, fold and organize donations. The clothing closet requires some lifting, bending, standing and organizational skills.
